What a great day for shooting this past Sunday, August 18, 2019 at Camp Pendleton.
We had a very large turn out for the pistol EIC matches.Perfect weather.
We had people come from out of state, juniors, women, one of the most diverse crowds I’ve seen in a very long time and that’s good for our sport.
Thanks to the Marines who operated the turning targets at 25 yards and everyone who worked together to make the match occur.
Most importantly, for the first time in a long time, as this pistol shooting is tough, we had three people get “legs” or more officially, points toward their goal of becoming a Distinguished Pistol Marksman.
In centerfire pistol Harry Hall got eight points for shooting a 260.4
In rimfire pistol we had 4 people who shot good enough to have earned points, but only two legs were available.
Marc Lerwick came out on top with a 274.7 and earned 8 points and already double distinguished and on his way to triple distinguished!!!!
Gy Sgt Wayne Gallagher, USMC, earned 6 points by shooting a 263.4.
Right on their tails were Harry Hall with a 262.2 and Dusty Carr with a 260.1
Congratulations to Tiffany Jones for getting High Woman…and beating her husband Mike !!!!
